University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar announced that the date for releasing results for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG will be disclosed shortly. The results of the pivotal test, serving as the gateway for admission to undergraduate courses, were initially slated for release by June 30. However, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has yet to provide any update on the matter.
The delayed announcement of CUET results is expected to have repercussions on the academic calendar of universities as well.
“NTA is working on CUET results and will announce a date soon,” says the UGC chairman.
The delay in announcing the results coincides with ongoing controversies surrounding alleged irregularities in various competitive exams such as NEET and NET. In a first-time occurrence, the exam conducted in a hybrid mode was abruptly cancelled in Delhi the night before, citing logistical issues. Subsequently, the exam was rescheduled and conducted later in the national capital.
The NTA previously stated that the third edition of CUET-UG would span seven days without score normalisation, as all exams were conducted in a single shift. Among the 63 subjects, tests for 15 were conducted in pen-and-paper mode, while the remaining 48 subjects were held in computer-based mode.
